One of the series of paintings titled Rebirth stems from her experience during the pandemic in southern Italy, a period of time that made possible a profound self-discovery, an awareness of ourselves, and the reconstruction of our relationships. The isolation that comes with quarantine can mean the revealing of another dimension for an artist, allowing for the search for new forms of artistic language and expression. She had created this artwork to depict the loneliness she felt, and to dream of escaping her life, even for a moment, imagining someone there to help ease her loneliness.

She nurtured a profound bond with nature and the Land and set upon a path toward belonging that echoes the Palestinian’s war experience of dislocation and exile. In this series, Amin considers the meaning of “land,” which is often understood narrowly. More than just a geographical location or a material portion of the planet, home is a concept; it represents attachment, security, and comfort. But for all of us, what do we even mean by “land” or “homeland”? It has emotional, social, and cultural aspects and is closely linked to our origins, traditions, and language.

An experimental video art applies a rotoscope technique. Through this project, Amin examined solitude as liberation, conquering fear and sadness, and empowered herself by exploring nature—the motherland. The video is two minutes and 34 seconds long, and you can see it in the link below.

Amin’s work has evolved. Since her project, Rebirth, her focus has shifted to nature as both a source of reference and an anchor for reconnecting with herself. In her current series, Sanctuary, she reflects on humanity’s deep connection with the natural world, making peace her artistic response to the violence and chaos of war. In this series, she uses the natural world as an analogy for safety, renewal, and balance.

This series is of mixed-media drawings from plants in Southern Italy during COVID-19. As the artist played with different materials and styles, she adopted a playful approach as depicted in this series.

In this piece, Amin finds herself in ambiguous and vulnerable spaces. Her work symbolizes resilience and empowerment. In her practice, Amin is a seeker of understanding; she asks viewers to view life through her artistic visions, free of dialogue that separates us.

Amin went through difficult times after moving to Italy and started suffering from an identity crisis. The project focuses on the notion of false memories, things we think happened but didn’t actually occur. False Memories is an experimental video art using the rotoscope technique (a combination of drawing and digital painting) and wants to deal with the thin line that separates reality from illusion.

It was also during this time that Amin was going through major life changes, trying to embrace the unknown. She saw her mind as a blender, chaotic but transformative. Amin made colorful mixed-media paintings, using comic pop art as a narrative device to express bewilderment, identity loss, and uncertainty.

This series of mixed media paintings draws on fantasy (fairy tales, dreams, magic, myth) combined with the now. It interrogates the relationship between desires, needs, and fears, the propellers of humanity’s movement to alter, adjust, metamorphose, and inner growth. Essentially, however, the work explores the idea of borders between the soul and the body. In contemporary life, every person moves through boundaries that dictate attitudes and behaviors, limiting freedom and looking less human. But the human spirit doesn’t submit, it breaks through these constraints, inviting new forms of being in the world, where differences create possibilities, not obstacles.

The artist’s first experimental video art piece, made in 2015, is based on the rotoscope technique. It expresses transformation and freedom through the complexity of womanhood in her society.
